EXTECH’s SKYSHADE 3100 Standing Seam system was able to be cold-curved for this commercial canopy. EXTECH’s SKYSHADE 3100 is a standing seam canopy that offers continuous battens that snap over panel edges to form seams.
At the Grand Rapids, MI airport, HOK Inc. wanted a canopy over the entry passenger loading area. They asked that the outer edge of the canopy be “light” in appearance. EXTECH achieved the light feel with our SKYSHADE 3700 by tapering the rafters and designing a thin extruded aluminum edging that was silicone to the ends of the panels.
This simple commercial canopy over the entry to the school building was an important element in the overall design. EXTECH designed, fabricated, and installed the entire assembly. The green panels are one of the standard colors available with EXTECH’s standing seam systems, but our SKYSHADE 3100 (seen here) is available in many translucencies and colors.
These canopies were done using EXTECH’s SKYSHADE 3100 commercial canopy system. Miller Company Landscape Architects designed this pocket park to serve residential communities in the evolving Central Station neighborhood. Part of the objective of this park was to provide pedestrian connectivity and strong edge relationships among new and existing residential communities in the neighborhood.
The waterfront along the East River and New York Harbor in Brooklyn, NY has been revitalized as a place for recreation and community. To encourage public use, athletic courts for handball, basketball, and soccer were implemented on Pier 2. Easton Architects incorporated a significant amount of the pier’s original structure during the design process. They elected to use EXTECH’s SKYSHADE 3100 canopy system to shield people from the elements while they enjoyed the pier’s amenities.
Our SKYSHADE 3700 polycarbonate canopy was used to design this beautiful corporate campus park in Houston, TX. EXTECH supplied Opal colored polycarbonate panels and Clearn Anodized finish framing.
This was a large bus shelter in Detroit. EXTECH’s role was to design and fabricate a cellular polycarbonate system to cover and protect the tops of the curved and tapered trusses.
