This project for the General Services Administration (GSA) is a US Government Port of Entry Facility in Upstate, New York. EXTECH’s LIGHTWALL polycarbonate panels Standing Seam system was utilized, with some portions using clear panels and others using opal panels.

At the request of the architect, EXTECH designed a corner detail which was 100% polycarbonate (no aluminum framing). With help from the 100% recyclable polycarbonate and daylighting credits, the application earned a LEED silver rating and won several awards, including:

• Best Government Construction Project of 2010, by New York Construction Magazine
• 2010 GSA Design Award – Architecture and Art Citation
• Green GOOD DESIGN Award 2010, by the Chicago Athenaeum/European Centre for Architecture, Art and Urban Design Studies
• 2011, New York Chapter of Construction Management Association of America Project of the Year in the $20 to $60 Million Category
