The Barrie Allandale Transit Terminal, located at 20 Essa Road in Barrie, Ontario, is a state-of-the-art transportation hub designed to serve the City of Barrie’s growing transit needs. The project brought together a team of industry leaders, including Diamond Schmitt as the architect, Matheson Constructors as the contractor, and Stradia Glass & Door as the installer. EXTECH/Exterior Technologies Inc. played a pivotal role delivering a tailored solution for the terminal’s unique requirements.
EXTECH supplied its innovative SKYSHADE 2500 glass canopy system, covering 2,098SF and wrapping around the west, south, and east sections of the terminal building. The system was factory-fabricated and delivered with comprehensive shop and installation drawings, ensuring a streamlined, efficient installation process. The canopy utilized tempered and laminated glass glazing (provided by others) to meet stringent safety and durability standards.
